Online ordering system for pizza restaurants

Pizza ordering is modifier-heavy. The system needs to handle size, crust, toppings, halves, meal deals and delivery-zone economics without slowing customers at checkout.

What pizza ordering needs that generic systems miss

  • Nested modifiers — size affects price, crust affects availability, toppings affect price per size.
  • Half-and-half pizzas — toppings priced per half, ticket shows both sides.
  • Meal deals — bundles such as “any large pizza + side + drink” with configurable swaps.
  • Delivery zones that reflect bake-and-drive time.

Menu configuration

The system supports item-level modifiers, modifier groups, size multipliers and category rules. A pizza menu can be configured so changing the size updates every topping price automatically.

Kitchen workflow

Tickets show pizza, size, crust, toppings (halves split), sides and drinks, routed to the correct station. Drinks and sides can be routed separately from the pizza oven station.

Operational note: The most common pizza-ordering failure is modifier pricing drift — a topping price changes for one size but not another. Central price lists prevent this.

Frequently asked questions

Can the system handle half-and-half pizzas?

Yes. Toppings can be configured per half, with price adjustments for each half. The kitchen ticket shows both halves clearly.

Does it support meal deals and combo pricing?

Yes. Meal deals can be configured as bundles with fixed or optional items, with the discount applied at the basket level.

How are delivery zones handled?

Delivery zones are configured by postcode or polygon, with fees and minimum order values per zone. Free-delivery thresholds can be set per zone.
