Online ordering system for dessert shops and ice cream parlours

Customisation, collection slots, late-night delivery and gift pre-orders — without a system built for savoury menus.

What dessert ordering needs

  • Deep customisation — flavours, toppings, sauces, mix-ins, cone vs tub.
  • Photo-rich menus — customers choose with their eyes.
  • Collection slots — most dessert orders are collected rather than delivered.
  • Pre-order for cakes and gifts with a message and lead time.
  • Late-night service — separate late menu and delivery window.

Menu and modifier configuration

Modifier groups that mirror how customers think: base, flavour, toppings. The system prices each modifier and shows the total clearly at checkout.

Pre-order and personalisation

Cakes and gift boxes can be offered as pre-order items with a lead time, collection slot and personalisation fields. The kitchen ticket includes the personalisation.

Late-night menus

Ordering hours are configurable per day and per menu. A dessert shop can run a daytime menu and a late-night menu with different items, prices and delivery zones.

Operational note: Dessert orders are often small baskets. Delivery fees and minimums need to be set with that in mind — a £4 delivery fee on a £12 order will kill conversion.
